Support Worker - Child High Intensity Behavioural Supports/Self Care (Lawnton/Moreton Bay)
Casual / Part-Time Position
We are seeking compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our dedicated team, providing high-quality support to a child displaying explosive behaviours (can be violent/foul language used). Support Workers must be prepared for a high energy challenging and active child, working in an unpredictable and volatile environment. Strong communication skills are a must have. Willingness to do potential sleepover shifts may be required so this availability will be highly prized. Weekend and school holiday shifts available.
Outside of this client, other shifts with other participants of various age groups will be available as well. These clients disabilities include ABIs, mental health, autism and impaired vision.
About the Role:
As a High Intensity Behavioural Support Worker, you will assist our client to achieve their goals, increase their independence, and participate actively in the community. This includes behavioural support & personal care in the family home, as well as transport, social support, and helping manage daily tasks in line with individual care plans and behavioural support plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide person-centred support for a highly behavioural child with micro deletion disability, over a variety of shifts predominantly afternoon evenings, weekends, and overnight as required.
Shifts with other clients with mental health and ABI needs & autism, Assist with daily living activities including personal care and meal preparation, Support community engagement, appointments, and recreational activities will be available.
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
Promote a safe and empowering environment for all clients
**Requirements**:
Previous experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or ABI
Valid National Police Check
Current First Aid and CPR certificates
Valid Blue Card (Working with Children) and Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening)
Own reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends
