Overview

The Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport (ALMT) Program is responsible for the Bureau's business relationships with service delivery partners, government stakeholders, and both domestic and international customers operating in the aviation, land and maritime transport sectors.

The Aerodrome Engagement team is responsible for increasing proactive engagement with the aerodrome operators and managing the relationships with Airservices Australia. In addition to managing this external engagement, the team works closely with the Aviation Customer Engagement team and observation delivery teams to deliver outstanding value to the Australian aviation industry.

We are seeking a motivated customer engagement specialist who understands the aviation sector and can build and sustain relationships with customers at all levels within the sector.

The successful applicant will possess sound initiative and leadership capabilities, and have excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. They will have experience working across teams, in technical domains and demonstrated project management skills. They will also have influencing and stakeholder management experience and will contribute to the planning of aviation meteorological services.


The key duties of the position include:

* Build and sustain the Bureau's engagement with Airservices Australia, aerodrome operators, and related associations. Deepen and broaden customer and stakeholder relationships with the aerodrome sector and rapidly respond to customer opportunities to deliver outstanding value to customers.
* Harness customer information and identify opportunities through detailed analysis of sectors within the aviation industry, in particular Airservices Australia and aerodromes.
* Participate in multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams and support internal business areas in their interactions with aerodromes.
* Draft business proposals and customer agreements for new customer product and service offerings, and manage active ones.
* Represent the Bureau at aviation industry conferences and committees, acting as an advocate for the ALMT Program and for Aviation Meteorological Services in particular.
* Participate in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of services and products and, as appropriate, the ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of the quality management system and, where appropriate, the associated AS/NZS ISO 9001 quality management standard certification.
* Actively work across the Bureau, to ensure a workplace that is safe and diverse, where people grow and are empowered to excel, and where customers come first, trust the Bureau and consider that we are a pleasure to work with.
* Comply with all Bureau Work Health and Safety (WHS) initiatives, ensuring compliance with Bureau WHS procedures and policies. Demonstrate commitment to APS Values, Employment Principles, Code of Conduct.
