Matrix Education is now hiring a Software Engineer to join our small, high-output engineering team where AI agents are a real part of how software gets made. This is a hands‐on full‐stack role building and shipping Next.js, TypeScript, and Node applications across our student‐facing platform and internal tools, using agentic workflows throughout.
This is not a "we have a Copilot subscription" environment. We use Claude Code and Cursor as primary development tools, and the expectation is that you bring genuine fluency with those tools on day one.
You'll report directly to the Head of Technology, own the code and the processes around it, and help shape how our development system evolves.
What you'll do...
Ship full‐stack features using agentic workflows
* Build Next.js and Node features end to end server components, API routes, and deployment using Claude Code and Cursor as your primary environment
* Own the full code‐review loop on agent output: keep what's good, rewrite what isn't, and send back what needs a better prompt
* Integrate with core platforms (Salesforce, Snowflake, CYPHER LMS) with the agent handling scaffolding and you handling the judgement calls
Improve development and agentic delivery pipelines
* Own and improve CI/CD: branch strategy, automated testing, preview deployments, and merge rules
* Build and maintain the agentic pipeline layer skill libraries, tool integrations, context management, and human review checkpoints
* Apply the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications to agent‐facing surfaces before they reach users
Own production applications
* Take features end to end from scoping and build through to rollout, monitoring, and iteration
* Contribute reusable components and shared libraries the rest of the team can build on
What you'll need...
* 3–5 years of software engineering experience, with at least 12 months building production systems that use LLMs or agents
* Shipped Next.js and TypeScript applications in production, including both client and server‐side rendering
* Hands‐on experience with an agentic development workflow (Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable) and a clear view of what you did and didn't delegate
* Comfortable with CI/CD, SQL, and REST API integration with third‐party SaaS systems
About you...
* You use agentic coding tools daily and have real opinions about what makes a prompt useful
* You can evaluate agent output critically you know the difference between code that looks right and code that is right
* High ownership, pragmatic about tooling, and a clear written communicator
* Curious and honest about what you don't know yet comfort with being a learner is non‐negotiable
A few of our perks...
* Work at the genuine frontier of AI‐assisted development not as a concept, but as your daily workflow
* Make a genuine impact on students' lives at scale
* Join a high‐performing, ambitious team with strong momentum.
