Chief Engineer - Aerospace | Defence Aerospace | Advanced Autonomous Systems Location: Brisbane, QLD, Australia A unique and exciting opportunity has emerged for an experienced Chief Engineer to join a cutting-edge aerospace programme developing a next-generation aircraft. With key milestones scheduled across the next 24 months, the team is expanding and seeking a Chief Engineer to take ownership of system integration and core engineering of the vehicle. The Opportunity You will drive leadership and engineering teams to ensure the successful integration and delivery of the aircraft platform, overseeing critical subsystems including airframe, propulsion, power systems, and platform validation. This role will suit a hands-on leader who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and bringing together multidisciplinary systems to deliver real-world capability. You will need to be pro-active, and delivery focused to ensure key milestones are met. Key Responsibilities Provide technical engineering leadership to a team of 10 Lead systems integration across airframe, propulsion, and electrical systems Ensure delivery against key engineering milestones and project objectives Work closely with project management, quality, and validation teams Oversee engineering decisions related to performance, weight, and power systems Support testing and validation activities including flight testing phases Guide engineering teams and ensure technical delivery remains on schedule Experience required: 8 years’ experience within engineering for aerospace, defence or a related sector. Strong experience in complex systems integration Background in aerospace, structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering Proven ability to deliver engineering projects against milestones Experience working within high-reliability engineering environments Eligible to obtain Australian Defence security clearance Why This Role?
