Disability Support Worker Role
Melba Support Services offers personalized assistance to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live life on their own terms.
* We engage with people to understand their unique needs and preferences, providing tailored support plans.
* Effective communication is key in our role, using alternative and augmentative communication systems when required.
* Our team implements support plans that cater to individuals' needs, preferences, and interests.
You will work collaboratively with us to provide person-centered active support, enabling individuals to participate in everyday activities, develop social relationships, and maintain autonomy.
* We provide personal care support to people in all areas of their lives, promoting independence and dignity.
* Our team assists individuals with daily living activities, such as morning routines and evening preparations.
* We support attendance and participation in social events, recreational interests, work, and/or education endeavors.
To be successful in this role, you will require strong communication skills, a genuine commitment to inclusion, and the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people. You must also hold a current First Aid and CPR Certificate and have a valid driver's license to perform travel and work various shifts.
