About the Role
We’re looking for an Account Manager, to be based in our Melbourne office, with an engineering mindset to help bridge the gap between technical expertise and strategic growth. At SGA, our engineering staff are our most effective salespeople — their deep knowledge, trusted relationships, and hands-on problem solving naturally drive client engagement and confidence.
The Account Manager will play a critical role in harnessing this strength by overseeing and supporting the sales activities led by our engineers, ensuring alignment with SGA’s broader strategy. They’ll work closely with the leadership team to identify opportunities for improvement and expansion, translating frontline insights into actionable business outcomes.

About You:
Proven ability to drive sales growth through strategic planning, client engagement, and monthly targets for new projects, clients, and revenue
Ability to lead pre-sales and proposal activities, ensuring high-quality tenders, CRM tracking, and alignment with customer expectations
Strong capability to collaborate across teams to execute sales plans, review performance with P&L; owners, and represent the company at industry events
Skilled in building and maintaining strong client relationships by securing trust, promoting long-term partnerships, and delivering value through tailored engineering solutions and events
Ability to champion the customer experience through technical presentations, feedback surveys, and prioritising long-term relationships over short-term gains
Degree in any of; Computer / Electrical / Electronic / Mechatronic / Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
Minimum five-year industrial sales experience with various forms of electrical engineering, automation and control systems engineering
Demonstrated experience in reaching and exceeding sales targets
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Proven critical reasoning and strategic thinking
Exceptional client relationship skills
Proven ability to work in a team and autonomous setting
Desirable Experience and Skills:
A strong understanding of PLC/SCADA systems, telemetry and RTU's, industrial communications, network design, and development
Extensive experience in solution selling based on the Schneider, Rockwell, Siemens, or Ignition platforms
Sales, Marketing or Business related qualifications at the Diploma level
Water, Utilities or Mining industry experience
