About the Role
As a Reporting Business Analyst in our National Cancer Screening Register (NCSR), you'll be at the centre of how data is used to support Australia's national cancer screening programs. You'll turn complex health data into clear, meaningful insights that enable leaders, clinicians and program partners to make confident decisions, shape better services and ultimately improve cancer prevention outcomes.
You'll work closely with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs, translate them into clear requirements and user stories, and support the delivery of accurate, timely and easy-to-use reports and dashboards. You'll help ensure that the right information is available at the right time to drive action across a large, high-impact national platform.
What You'll Be Doing
* Engaging with a range of stakeholders to collect, clarify and document reporting and analytics requirements for the NCSR.
* Translating stakeholder needs into reporting specifications, user stories and design documentation that guide build and enhancement work.
* Supporting the development and maintenance of operational and management reports, dashboards and data visualisations.
* Analysing trends and performance data to provide insights and recommendations that support program and operational decision making.
* Contributing to user testing by developing test approaches, coordinating end-user testing and summarising outcomes.
* Ensuring data quality, consistency and integrity across reporting outputs, in line with data governance policies.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams including epidemiologists, data engineers, report developers and subject matter experts to continuously improve reporting processes and tools.
* Maintaining reporting catalogues, data definitions, procedures and policies to support clarity and reuse of reporting assets.
About You
* Min of 3 years' experience in a reporting, business analyst or similar analytical role within a complex or customer-focused environment.
* Strong skills in data analysis, reporting and visualisation tools, with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable insights.
* Proven experience in gathering, documenting and managing business requirements and translating them into reporting or analytical deliverables.
* Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a business audience.
* Effective stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence working across technical and non-technical teams.
* High attention to detail, with a continuous improvement mindset across all aspects of reporting and analysis.
* Experience working with Power BI and modern data platforms such as Snowflake is highly regarded.
* Proficiency with Agile methodologies, including user story and backlog management, and managing work packages through to completion.
* Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency Baseline Security Clearance.
