What You'll Be DoingProvide clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within nursing to deliver evidence-based, trauma-informed, and developmentally appropriate assessment and treatment to children and adolescents (0-17 years) in acute mental health distress, and their families.
The position is within the Safeguards Child and Adolescent Mental Health Response Team ('Safeguards Team'), reporting to the Safeguards Team Leader and the District Nurse Manager, Mental Health MNCLHD.
The Safeguards Team is a new dedicated CAMHS resource providing innovative, best-practice care to children and adolescents experiencing acute mental health distress. It offers community-based, rapid, mobile, and flexible care, including assertive outreach, care coordination, and time-limited therapeutic interventions.
The team operates 7 days a week with extended hours on weekdays, responding to young people in schools, homes, communities, and hospital settings via face-to-face, phone, and telehealth appointments.
About YouYou should have current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA), relevant postgraduate qualifications in mental health, and at least 3 years of recent clinical experience in mental health. Demonstrated ability to manage complex clinical care, develop clinical management plans, and resolve service delivery issues is essential.
