The Role
We've teamed up with the Commonwealth to develop a scalable and agile solution for the procurement and delivery of essential commodities for the Department of Defence.
As a Procurement Specialist, you'll manage activities related to sourcing new products, managing suppliers, running tenders, and maintaining the online product catalogue to ensure value for money and accuracy.
This role supports the Commonwealth in reducing the cost of ownership for Defence commodities by applying 'smart buyer' principles, simplifying procurement, delivery, and management of vital resources.
Responsibilities include:
1. Product Sourcing and Recommendations: Execute sourcing activities and provide value-based recommendations.
2. Supplier Management: Manage supplier performance and build relationships.
3. Product Catalogue Management: Upload and maintain products on the online catalogue.
4. Issue Resolution and Customer Engagement: Resolve product issues and engage with customers.
5. Reporting and Performance Tracking: Provide performance reports to stakeholders.
6. Teamwork and Continuous Improvement: Collaborate across departments and improve processes.
About You
* Supply Chain / Business Undergraduate or Masters preferred.
* Operational Procurement experience.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
* Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office.
* Proficiency in using KPIs and understanding company structures.
