Public Sector People is seeking an experienced procurement professional to join a QLD State Government Department on a 3-month contract with a view to extension.
This role offers the opportunity to utilize your skills in a fast-paced environment where you'll make a tangible impact on the Department's operations and projects.
* Tender Management: Prepare and manage the end-to-end tender process for various categories.
* Policy & Compliance: Implement and ensure full compliance with the Queensland Procurement Policy and other relevant legislation.
* Supplier Relations: Work effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and maintain high performance standards.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate procurement strategies to staff and provide high-quality customer service to the Department's clients, including managing escalated queries.
* Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of medium and major contracts and local procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Tender Management: Develop and implement effective tender processes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
* Policy & Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities align with the Queensland Procurement Policy and other relevant legislation.
* Supplier Relations: Foster strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to drive competitive pricing and improved performance.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Provide exceptional communication and customer service to stakeholders, including departmental staff and clients.
* Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement improvements to procurement processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience in government procurement roles, with a strong understanding of government procurement processes.
* In-depth knowledge of the Queensland Procurement Policy and other relevant legislation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
* A knack for negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
* Exceptional time management and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
