Our client is a well-established organisation delivering complex, data-driven programs across enterprise environments. They are currently modernising their analytics platform, transitioning reporting from a legacy SAS environment to a modern Azure Databricks medallion architecture, enabling more scalable, performant, and business-aligned reporting outcomes.
About the Role
This role sits at the heart of the data transformation program. Working closely with a Technical Business Analyst, you will be responsible for designing (not building) robust, scalable data models that underpin a large portfolio of Power BI reports. The focus is on thoughtful, well-documented design that supports performance, consistency, and long-term usability across business domains.
Key Responsibilities
* Designing data models (e.g. star schemas, data marts) aligned to business domains
* Producing transparent, high-quality data model documentation
* Incorporating performance considerations into model design (query efficiency, aggregation strategies)
* Defining consistent business metrics and KPIs in collaboration with the Tech BA
* Specifying how data should be transformed and joined across multiple source systems
The Successful Candidate
You will bring strong hands-on experience as a Data Modeller within enterprise data environments and be comfortable working in design-focused roles.
Key Experience
* Proven data modelling expertise for analytics and reporting use cases
* Experience with Azure Databricks (preferred)
* Exposure to Power BI-driven reporting environments
* Understanding of performance-aware data modelling practices
* SAS experience is advantageous but not essential
* Strong documentation skills and the ability to collaborate closely with BAs and technical stakeholders
