Project Engineer – Civil Infrastructure (South Australia)
About the Role
We're working with a leading civil contractor delivering large-scale infrastructure across South Australia, including roads, bridges, bulk earthworks, transport, and defence projects. They are seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join the delivery team.
This is a hands‐on role ideal for someone with a Civil Engineering degree and at least 4 years of industry experience, keen to work on major construction packages in both metropolitan and regional locations.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of road, infrastructure, and defence projects
* Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain smooth operations
* Review and interpret drawings, specs, and design changes
* Manage procurement, cost tracking, and scheduling activities
* Prepare QA documentation, ITPs, and project reporting
* Ensure compliance with WHS and environmental standards across all works
* Support senior engineers and PMs with delivery outcomes and client engagement
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)
* Minimum 4 years' experience in civil infrastructure (including roads, highways, bridges, earthworks, or defence projects)
* Strong understanding of site-based operations, technical standards, and construction sequencing
* Confident communicator and collaborative team player
* Willingness to travel to regional sites when required (DIDO/FIFO opportunities available)
