Job Summary
">
The successful candidate will be a hands-on engineer who can turn first-principles designs into functional products that meet exacting standards.
">
About the Role
">
* Architect precision motion and control systems – multi-axis, high speed, high force, extreme process reliability.
">
* Own the lifecycle of embedded electronics and firmware – mixed-signal PCBs, C/C++ in RTOS, and device networking (e.g. CANopen, EtherCAT).
">
* Build vision-guided alignment loops – Specify cameras, illumination and sub-pixel fiducial algorithms; integration with software and hardware.
">
* Commission, tune and verify systems – Create test rigs and statistical test plans that prove repeatability and reliability.
">
* Integrate across disciplines and programmes – Translate precision, yield, uptime and serviceability goals into control-system choices.
">
* Own the full electromechanical hardware lifecycle – Drive design, vendor selection, procurement, fabrication/assembly, verification and validation.
">
* Safety and compliance – Ensure designs meet relevant SEMI / IEC / WHS standards; maintain full design history and risk analyses.
">
">
Requirements
">
">
* Experience: ≥ 8 years in mechatronics, mechanical design or related engineering fields. Startup, semiconductor or advanced R&D experience is a plus.
">
* Mindset: You get things done, iterate quickly and don’t let perfect be the enemy of good enough.
">
* Cross-Disciplinary Mindset – solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, software and optical systems.
">
">
Bonus Points
">
">
* Submicron motion control – air bearings, piezos, vibration damping, multi axis control.
">
* Vision and metrology: sub-pixel fiducial-alignment, sub-micron metrology
">
* Lithography, Die- and wafer-bonding Experience
">
* Active thermal control solutions holding ± 0.01 °C.
">
* Safety, compliance and quality oversight: Fluency with SEMI S-series (S1/S2/S8)
">
