We're looking for a Business Development Manager to join our Melbourne team. This role is all about building strong relationships, driving new business, and supporting customers with end-to-end solutions for buying and selling equipment.
What you'll do
* Drive sales in your territory through proactive prospecting and account management.
* Build and grow lasting relationships with dealerships, owner-operators, and new customers.
* Sell across all Ritchie Bros. multi-channel platforms.
* Develop and manage your sales pipeline in Salesforce, using territory playbooks and strategies.
* Prepare and deliver tailored presentations to secure new business.
* Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth execution of sales and outstanding customer service.
* Travel within your territory and attend auctions to build networks and grow opportunities.
What you'll bring
* 3+ years' experience in structured outside/field sales with a proven record of exceeding targets.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* A self-motivated, competitive, and entrepreneurial mindset.
* Strategic thinking, negotiation, and closing skills.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
* Experience in heavy/industrial equipment sales is an advantage.
* Clean, valid driver's licence and willingness to travel.
