OverviewBecker Family Funerals is a locally owned family business serving the Manning Valley for 25 years.
We are expanding our team and seeking a vibrant, charismatic person with humility, kindness, and solid work ethics.
The role requires some flexibility, with two permanent days offered and the possibility of additional days and expansion to full-time.
There is also a share in the monthly after-hours on-call roster.We strive to provide a respectful, supportive workplace and value individuals who wish to help families in their time of grief.
Previous funeral experience is not required; training and guidance will be provided.ResponsibilitiesPre-paid consultant.
Meet with families to formalise pre-arranged and pre-paid funeral choices into a contract.
Must have confident computer and typing skills and the ability to connect with people in an honest and caring manner.
All other skills will be learned and developed within the funeral home.Funeral Administration.
Enter funeral data into our computer program, liaise with associated industries, register details with the Department of Births, Deaths and Marriages, and engage with families at the reception area.Collecting and sorting mail, banking and occasional errands.After hours on-call roster.
Be on call after hours for emergency needs, approximately one week per month, with potential after-hours transfers in our funeral vehicle.Meeting with families to provide advice, guidance and funeral options tailored to their needs.Home, hospital, and nursing home transfers.General duties to ensure the health and cleanliness of the funeral home.Making and receiving phone calls, including bereavement first calls, enquiries and appointments, and liaising with care providers.Requirements and SkillsPhysical and mental capability to perform standard industry tasks; manual lifting required.Availability for an on-call and after-hours roster.Ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment.Full and unrestricted driver's license.Confidentiality with all personal details of the families we serve.A natural, sensitive, and warm ability to deal with loss and grief.Ability to work happily as part of a family team.A healthy level of fitness to support workplace health and safety.Becker Family Funerals is an equal prospect employer and encourages diversity in our workplace.
