Effective midwifery care is a cornerstone of women's healthcare, and we are seeking skilled professionals to join our team in this vital role.
The Birth Centre at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital provides holistic care for pregnant women and their families throughout the pregnancy, labour and postnatal period.
Our midwives work collaboratively in a team-based model, caring for approximately 450 low-to-moderate risk pregnant women annually.
We require our midwives to provide comprehensive antenatal care from the initial visit at 14 weeks, continuing through intrapartum care in the Birth Centre or Delivery Unit, and extending to postnatal care for mothers and babies up to 14 days post-birth.
Additionally, our midwives are responsible for providing postnatal care in the home environment, with a valid driver's license being preferable.
A key aspect of our practice is a commitment to supporting women in achieving an intervention-free birth. Applicants should be able to demonstrate their alignment with these principles during the interview process.
