Child Health Nurse Position
Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services is a well-established regional Aboriginal community-controlled health service that provides centralised advocacy and resource support for 6 independent member services as well as providing direct clinical services in remote Aboriginal communities across the region.
We are seeking a full-time Child Health Nurse based in Broome WA to coordinate and deliver child health services to Aboriginal children aged 0–5 across Broome and surrounding communities aligned with our Model of Care.
Responsibilities:
* Providing scheduled developmental health checks and childhood immunisations
* Facilitating recalls screenings and follow-ups
* Providing case management for at-risk children and coordinating specialist referrals
* Promoting uptake of the Kimberley Maternal & Child Health Protocols
* Delivering education training and mentoring to staff and community members
* Supporting women’s groups parenting and mums & bubs programs
* Contributing to child health data collection monitoring and reporting
* Participating in planning forums and community awareness activities
* Travelling to remote communities including Beagle Bay and Bidyadanga as required

Key skills and qualifications
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia
* Postgraduate qualification in Paediatric Nursing or related field
* Experience working in rural or remote Aboriginal communities
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
