Hancock Energy seeks reliable and sustainable energy solutions across Australia. They have a full-time opportunity for a Senior Development Geologist to support onshore oil and gas projects throughout Western Australia.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide geological input into subsurface work scopes and build geocellular models in support of appraisal and field development activities.
* Mature opportunities to drillable status with team members.
* Support subsurface team with reservoir geology knowledge and provide input into core analysis programs.
* Lead geoscience studies such as sequence stratigraphy, structural geology, reservoir characterisation, geochemistry and petrology.
* Integrate knowledge and results from subsurface studies into static and dynamic modelling workflows.
* Work collaboratively with geophysicists to integrate seismic interpretations including faults, horizons and attributes into structural frameworks.
* Develop field drainage plans to support field development planning and key investment decisions with reservoir engineers.
* Conduct deterministic and probabilistic resource volumetric estimations.
* Undertake static uncertainty and sensitivity evaluations in resource estimations.
* Partake in peer reviews and risking sessions.
* Provide relevant geological input into reservoir management & field development plans.
Requirements
* Fifteen years of industry experience in development geology, reservoir geology & static modelling roles with an understanding of reservoir characterisation.
* Knowledge of structural geology in construction of structural frameworks.
* Broad knowledge of clastic sedimentary and depositional analogues, reservoir architecture modelling and variography.
* Strong knowledge of sedimentology, including stratigraphy, provenance, and facies modelling.
* Reservoir geology expertise, including core and log integration, upscaling and data analysis.
* Petrophysical property modelling and data analysis skills.
* Proficient use of scripts and workflows.
* Static to dynamic workflow integration and reservoir engineering concepts.
* Characterisation of geological uncertainties and SPE-PRMS resource classification application.
* Industry-standard geological software proficiency.
* Data analysis and data management skills.
