Street Connect is a low barrier, outreach and case management service for young people aged 15 - 25 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We provide connection, support and referral to young people who are street present in the inner city via the Street Connect bus, and intensive case management and crisis intervention across the metro area.

We are currently looking for an experienced Youth Worker who loves working within a fast-paced environment and will use their existing skillset in the youth work, housing and homelessness area to provide, alongside key community partners, exceptional case management to young people with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The role will primarily be case management in an outreach setting with regular detached shifts. This is a full-time permanent opportunity. The operating hours of program are between 8 am and 8 pm Monday to Friday, with typically 7.5 hour shifts but this can be negotiable for the right candidate.

Skills and Experiences:

What You Will Bring

You will use your skills, understanding, and experience in providing a person-centered, strength-based approach in working alongside a diverse group of young people experiencing a unique set of circumstances and complexities. To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Tertiary or Diploma level qualification in relevant youth work or human services discipline, combined with significant skills and experience in youth work and / or people experiencing homelessness.
* Ability to engage and build strong, professional working relationships with young people with complex and co-occurring needs
* Case management experience, safety planning, assessment and crisis intervention skills.
* Experience providing an outreach service to street present young people
* Up to date knowledge of resources and services within youth and homelessness sector.
* Understanding of the current barriers and difficulties facing young people who are at risk of homelessness or homeless.
* Commitment to working in a positive team environment.

You must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a WA Working with Children Check, a Senior First Aid certificate, WA Drivers Licence with a willingness to obtain an MR bus licence.

* Salary packaging of up to $15,900 (which equates to circa $4K after tax) plus additional salary packaging of up to $2,650 for meal and entertainment expenses
