Alchemy is excited to be working with a leading fine art shipping company who are seeking accomplished and experienced Art Craters and Packers to join their expanding team, this role will be based in Sydney.
Please note that this role will be based in Sydney, Australia and the company will provide relocation support and visa sponsorship
This individual will have previous work experience in a logistics or art crating company. The day to day role will include packing and construction of crates and operating wood working machinery.
Please note this client will provide relocation support to Sydney and visa sponsorship.
**Responsibilities**:
- Constructing crates to meet specific requirements, standards and specifications.
- Reading and following technical drawings and job sheets to meet specifications.
- Designing structures that guarantees safe transport and protection of items, taking pressure points into consideration and making adaptions when necessary.
- Operating woodworking machinery including routers, saws and planers.
- Fitting and securing crate components, supports for crating, mounting backing materials, fitting and fastening frames.
- Identifying machines and tools needed for crate construction.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in art crating and construction.
- Experience packing, handling and installing museum objects and artwork.
- Physically fit and capable of completing role requirements.
- Proficient in using a variety of wood machining equipment.
- Skilled in technical drawing and job specification interpretation.
- Strong understanding of safety practices and standards in a manufacturing environments.
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Must have a clear police record for visa purposes.
