Architectural Door Hardware – Commercial Projects
Our client is a market leader in the supply of premium architectural door hardware designed to meet the performance, compliance, and aesthetic requirements of modern commercial projects. Their products are specified on high-rise apartments, office towers, healthcare facilities, education builds, and large-scale mixed-use developments. They partner closely with architects, designers, and builders to deliver tailored solutions that balance design vision with technical compliance.
This is a career-defining opportunity for a motivated specification professional to play a key role in shaping the built environment. You'll be responsible for influencing design decisions at the earliest stages of commercial projects, ensuring our client's architectural door hardware is the product of choice across major developments.
The role focuses on building long-term influence within the architectural and design community, as well as driving business development and sales. By leveraging strong technical and commercial knowledge, you'll ensure products are not only specified but also converted into secured supply contracts.
Responsibilities
* Building strong relationships with architects, designers, and project managers to secure product specifications.
* Delivering CPD presentations and design practice training to showcase solutions and build thought leadership.
* Developing new business opportunities by identifying upcoming tenders, major projects, and key stakeholders.
* Collaborating with technical and product teams to provide compliant, project-specific solutions.
* Working alongside contractors and builders to convert specifications into supply contracts.
* Maintaining an active project pipeline, CRM reporting, and accurate forecasting to support growth targets.
* Representing the business at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities to raise profile and influence design decisions.
Compensation & Benefits
* Base salary of up to $125,000 + Superannuation (12%)
* Car allowance of $18,000 + Fuel Card + Toll E-tag
* Performance bonus structure aligned to specification success and project wins
* Hybrid work environment with flexibility – ideally Sydney (Strathfield office), with Melbourne or Brisbane considered. Office attendance required 2–3 days per week to maintain culture and collaboration.
Candidate
The ideal candidate will be an experienced specification sales professional with strong networks across the architectural and design sector. While direct experience in architectural door hardware is highly valued, applicants with experience specifying complementary architectural finishes are also welcome, including:
* Decorative and architectural lighting
* Operable wall systems and partitions
* Engineered stone, decorative panels, or surface finishes
* Glazing and balustrade systems
* Acoustic or ceiling systems
* Washroom partitions and fit-out systems
You will also bring:
* A proven track record of influencing specifications and securing project inclusion.
* The ability to present with confidence and credibility to architectural and design firms.
* Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the construction project lifecycle.
* Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
* An architectural, interior design, or construction background will be highly regarded.
