We're an organisation embarking on a bold transformation of our Credit and Market Risk function and shift in how we operate, and we are looking for a curious, forward-thinking leader to be at the heart of it.

As the Head of Credit – Consumer & Digital, you will join a leadership cohort focused on delivering strong risk management outcomes and realizing our risk culture aspirations. This is more than a leadership role; it's a pivotal position in our journey to uplift our capability to operate at an Advanced IRB Bank level.

You will be crucial in balancing traditional credit disciplines with innovative approaches, including automation and artificial intelligence, to modernize our credit decision-making and enhance portfolio management. By fostering closer alignment with our Consumer and Digital divisions, you will enable stronger relationships, data-driven insights, and value-based decisions that contribute to the Bank's enduring success.


This is a permanent position based out of our Melbourne, Bendigo, Adelaide or Sydney offices.

What you’ll bring to the role
* A curious and forward-thinking mindset with the ability to ignite potential, elevate performance, and deliver a compelling vision that challenges the status quo.
* Superior knowledge of consumer credit risk management strategies, philosophies, and techniques, including emerging best practices in automation and AI.
* Demonstrated experience in leading a Credit Risk team in a reputable financial organization, with a proven ability to develop and implement credit risk management frameworks.
* Demonstrated experience in exercising a Delegated Lending Authority.
* Highly effective engagement and leadership skills with the ability to lead and drive change at a Divisional level, building a high-performing culture that inspires diversity of thought.
* Expert knowledge of bank policies and the regulatory environment, combined with a deep commitment to developing Credit Risk capability across the division and the Bank.
* Direct exposure to regulatory processes and evolving practices, with significant knowledge of the regulatory environment in which banks operate.
* Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline are essential.
