Casual Junior Ad Copywriter

Pay Rate: $31.19 an hour (includes casual loading)

Education Requirement: You must have completed or be in the process of completing a degree in a marketing or marketing related field (marketing, communications, commerce, business, literature, psychology, social media).

Overview

You'll be writing both ad copy and video scripts for image and video ads on Meta and Google. To do this job, you'll need a sense of humour, of empathy, of poetry and of style.

Persuasive copywriting is both art and science. You love diving into the emotional mind of a consumer and finding ways to tell the story of a product.

If I could describe writing for advertising in a simple, five step process it is this:

* Understand who the customer is and the specific insight about their behaviour that is driving the creation of this ad (desk research, post purchase surveys, speak to customers)
* Understand what the product is (speak with the client, study the landing page, understand legal limitations)
* Understand who the brand is (the personality, the tone of voice)
* Understand where on the journey this ad is designed for, what insight and message you need to communicate and what that message needs to achieve (top, middle or bottom of funnel)
* THEN and ONLY then do you write

You've always written. Words have spoken to you, and you have been compelled to do their bidding.

If writing short, punchy, persuasive content is something that comes naturally to you.

If you're a quick learner, professional, organised and have high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

* Write both ad copy and video scripts for image and video ads on Meta and Google.
* Develop persuasive, concise, and engaging content that aligns with brand voice and campaign goals.
* Collaborate with clients or internal teams to understand product, brand, and legal constraints.
* Apply insights about customer behavior to craft messaging that drives desired outcomes.
* Iterate on copy based on feedback and performance data.

Qualifications

* Completed or in the process of completing a degree in marketing or marketing related fields (marketing, communications, commerce, business, literature, psychology, social media).
* Ability to write short, punchy, persuasive content with a sense of humour and style.
* Quick learner, professional, organized, and with high attention to detail.
* Willingness to collaborate and adapt to feedback.
