ABOUT THE ROLE
We are expanding our maintenance team and are seeking a trade-qualified Diesel Fitter with proven experience in quarrying, crushing plant, and heavy machinery. The key responsibilities are:
- Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, actively embracing Hillery Group's safety culture.
- Undertake maintenance, preventative maintenance and refurbishment of Hillery Group’s and associated companies’ plant, fleet, and equipment following the manufacturers’ requirements and company standards.
- Undertake inspection, servicing, repair, and component replacement on fixed and mobile crushing plant to ensure operational efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Monitor and maintain crushing plant performance, ensuring screens, conveyors, and associated equipment operate at peak capacity and in line with production requirements.
- Conduct scheduled shutdown maintenance and unscheduled breakdown repairs on crushers, feeders, and screening equipment.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines and heavy machinery with precision and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair works, including all paperwork related to purchase orders, invoicing, and service records.
- Use diagnostic tools, software, and techniques to identify faults and inefficiencies.
- Read and interpret technical diagrams, schematics, and manuals with confidence.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship through meticulous and professional repairs.
- Perform field service work with the convenience of a fully allocated company vehicle.
ABOUT YOU:
We are seeking a Diesel Fitter with quarrying or mining experience with a can-do flexible attitude and excellent customer service skills, as well as the following:
• Must be trade qualified with at least 3-5 years post-trade experience.
• Hold a current QLD MR driver’s licence or be willing to obtain it.
• Work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• A ‘CAN-DO' attitude with the ability to deliver first-class solutions.
• High level of diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with fixed plant equipment and heavy machinery.
• Positive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
• Australian citizen or right to work in Australia.
