We are looking for a driven and technically minded individual to join the Australian New Business team based in Melbourne or Sydney.
As a Solution Engineer, you will work closely with the sales team to provide technical expertise throughout both the pre- and post-sales process. Your focus will be on analysing customer operations, interpreting business needs, and developing system layouts, costings, and data-driven recommendations to deliver fit-for-purpose, value-added solutions.
Your Key Responsibilities will include:
* Conduct operational assessments and site evaluations to inform solution development.
* Interpret customer data and processes using modelling tools that reflect operational realities.
* Build accurate models of current operations and assess potential improvements.
* Evaluate datasets and present well-supported recommendations to clients.
* Support the sales function with system concepts, technical layouts, and cost estimations.
* Follow established formats and methodologies for all design and costing work.
* Assist in drafting detailed operational descriptions and preparing tender documentation.
* Share insights to enhance the team's technical depth and competitiveness continually.
* Develop familiarity with warehouse management system (WMS) capabilities and applications.
* Oversee delivery of the non-physical aspects of system implementations, including: process maps, training programs, operational workflows, testing procedures, slotting strategies.
* Collaborate with software engineers to validate functional system specifications.
* Participate in implementation reviews and performance audits to ensure project outcomes align with client expectations.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A tertiary qualification in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
* Background in mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, with integration into software solutions.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in the design and application of logistics systems or automated solutions.
* Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Strong problem-solving and critical thinking ability.
* Effective time management and organisational skills.
* Team-oriented, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
* Willingness to travel domestically based on project and client needs.
