Job Brief
Farax is recruiting for an experienced Lead Machinist / Supervisor to join our client's workshop team based in Forrestdale on a temporary 3‐12 month assignment covering a leave period.
This is a hands‐on leadership role suited to someone who can lead from the front, coordinate workshop operations, and support the wider team to deliver high‐quality machining projects.
This role will require you to be hands on and you will need to have STRONG CNC experience.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise, plan and allocate workshop scopes and daily workflow
* Coordinate with the admin team regarding paperwork, materials, invoicing and project updates
* Operate and program CNC machinery, particularly Mazak / Mazatrol systems
* Read technical drawings and assist with quoting jobs (desirable)
* Support workshop productivity, quality and team performance
Skills & Experience
* Strong CNC machining experience
* Relevant Trade Qualification and any supporting Leadership Qualifications
* Mazak / Mazatrol programming experience essential
* Experience with manual lathes and milling machines highly regarded
* Experience with One CNC software desirable
* Ability to work autonomously and lead a team effectively
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Motivated, proactive and willing to learn
Position Details
* Temporary assignment | 3‐12 month duration
* Monday to Friday | 7:00am – 3:30pm
* Overtime available as required
* Workshop based role in Forrestdale
* MUST have FULL Australian working rights with no restrictions
