We are seeking a qualified Fitter for our Huntingwood manufacturing plant. This role will report directly to the Maintenance and Reliability Co‑ordinator and will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of high‑volume food manufacturing equipment, robotic equipment, site services and packaging equipment.
This is a key trades position responsible for effectively performing all tasks associated with the fitting activities at Arnott’s Huntingwood. Primarily responsible for carrying out preventative and breakdown maintenance on all machinery and working in compliance with quality and safety systems. Recording maintenance carried out and entering of corrective work in the CMMS. Troubleshooting varied high‑speed manufacturing equipment.
Accountabilities
- Ensure that safety and quality are top priority.
- Respond immediately to equipment breakdowns, finding and fixing faults.
- Troubleshoot and repair varied high‑speed manufacturing equipment.
- Undertake and complete scheduled maintenance activities as per the planned maintenance program.
- Fabricate parts for industrial plant and equipment including machining and welding.
- Record preventive maintenance carried out and corrective work in the CMMS (SAP).
- Assist production teams to diagnose faults and find solutions to minimise down time.
- Undertake work on special projects and other responsibilities as determined.
- Complete work passed on from previous shift and handover important work to following shift.
- Suggest process improvement ideas – PM structure improvements, machine upgrades & product issues.
- Drive GMP awareness and compliance in alignment with quality standards during maintenance activities.
- Participate in relevant investigations to determine root cause of issues.
- Attend and actively contribute to team meetings.
Qualifications & Capabilities
- Recognised Fitting Trade Qualification.
- Ability to work an 8‑hour shift roster from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am, Sunday night/Monday morning to Thursday night/Friday morning (5 shifts per week).
- Extensive experience in maintenance activities in high‑volume/fast‑paced manufacturing environments.
- TIG welding.Experience with high‑speed packaging/wrapping equipment and/or filling equipment.
- Team‑oriented and achievement‑driven.
- Experience in Safe Work Practices.
- Experience with CMMS (SAP).
- Competent to use MS Word, MS Outlook and other relevant software.
- Must be able to machine using lathe and milling operations to a high standard.
- Solid troubleshooting skills.
