About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our national engineering team. Reporting to the Manager Primary Design, you will be responsible for overseeing geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design inputs from early works through to construction.
Your key responsibilities will include leading the geotechnical design process across all project phases, including feasibility, tender design, detailed design, and construction. You will also plan and interpret geotechnical investigations, produce detailed geotechnical models and reports, and deliver geotechnical assessments for foundations, slope stability, settlement, ground improvement, and detailed geohazard mitigation strategies.
In this role, you will work closely with civil, structural, and electrical teams to ensure geotechnical solutions are practical, compliant, and constructible, supporting our reputation for technical excellence and safety.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
* Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with Engineers Australia
* Registration on the National Engineering Register (NER) and/or Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), or ability to obtain
* Proven experience in the geotechnical design of infrastructure projects, preferably within the power, energy, or civil construction sectors
* Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics, foundation engineering, ground improvement, and slope stability
* Proficient in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, SLIDE, LPILE, Settle3, gINT, WALLAP, or equivalent
* Ability to produce and review geotechnical design reports, risk assessments, and technical memoranda to a high professional standard
