Yougawalla Pastoral Company, a collection of cattle stations across the Kimberley region in Western Australia, is looking for an HR Professional with strong generalist HR skills who will also manage end-to-end Payroll activities. Reporting to the Executive Services Manager, this full-time role will be based in our office in Broome.

Responsibilities of this Role

* Assist with onboarding, offboarding and probation management
* Keep employee records and HR systems accurate and up to date
* Manage any performance management issues of staff
* Assist with workers compensation cases, return to work planning and liaising with insurers
* Ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and internal policies
* Coordinate internal WHS training and communicate safety updates
* Respond to general HR and Payroll queries from staff and managers
* Prepare payroll data, including timesheets, leave, allowances and deductions
* Ensure payroll is processed accurately, on schedule and in line with legislation and awards

Skills Required

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Able to handle personal and sensitive information confidentially
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Dependable, proactive, approachable and a 'can-do' attitude
* Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
* Committed to promoting a positive workplace culture

Qualifications and Experience

* Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources would be ideal
* Previous experience working in a similar role would be desirable
* Comprehensive understanding of Australian employment law, payroll legislation and interpreting Modern Awards is essential
* Strong knowledge of WHS principles would be ideal
* Familiarity using Employment Hero would be advantageous
* Confident with processing fortnightly end-to-end payroll and associated activities is a must
