About the Role

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Senior Speech Pathologist to join the Rural Allied & Community Health team at Gayndah Health Service. In this senior clinical role, you will deliver high‐quality speech pathology services across a diverse rural caseload while providing leadership, clinical expertise, and support to multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities

* Deliver high‐level generalist speech pathology services to eligible in‐patients and out‐patients including youth and adolescents, aged‐care residents and community members in rural settings.
* Contribute to the advancement of speech pathology services and multidisciplinary services across rural facilities in the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service through the provision of clinical leadership for service development, quality improvement and education and research activities.

Qualifications and Requirements

* Mandatory possession of a qualification as a Speech Pathologist from a registered tertiary institution (or equivalent) and a current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
* Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and, if applicable, registration or membership with the appropriate registration authority or association. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager, prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
* Opportunity for Rural Development Pathway: The HP3 to HP4 Rural Development Pathway (RDP) allows rural and remote services to provide a structured and intensive supervision, support and professional development program to HP3 (RDP) employees. The aim is to facilitate their development in order to progress the employee to the HP4 level of their role in a reasonable timeframe.
* Aged Care: Potential applicants are advised that the Aged Care Act 2024 requires Queensland Health employees and volunteers of aged care services to have a current National Police Certificate. Queensland Health will facilitate the applicants obtaining the above check.
* Applicants in Aged Care: appointment to this position is subject to a Banning Order Register check, which will be conducted by the line manager to verify eligibility to work in the aged care sector.
* Non‐Aphra registered Health Practitioners engaged in Aged Care roles: are required to provide evidence of membership with the Professional Membership Association.
* Queensland Disability Worker Screening: Potential applicants are advised that from the 1st February 2021, the National Disability Insurance Scheme Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission) requires Queensland Health to seek a Queensland Disability Worker Screening check prior to appointment to this position. Your appointment to the position is subject to the NDIS Commission issuing a favourable suitability notice.
* Applicants in NDIS positions: appointment to this position is subject to a Banning Order Register check, which will be conducted by the line manager to verify eligibility to work in the aged care sector.
* This position requires the incumbent to work at other facilities (including Multipurpose Health Facilities) within the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service (travel is a requirement of the role).
