About the Role
As a Senior Underwriter Corporate Property, you will play a key role in supporting the strategic objectives of Corporate Solutions by underwriting property risks for middle market and corporate clients. You will be responsible for developing and managing strong relationships with brokers and corporate clients, while delivering tailored insurance solutions aligned with Corso's underwriting philosophy and risk appetite.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement marketing strategies and account plans for assigned clients, in collaboration with Customer & Distribution Management, to achieve targeted premium and profitability outcomes.
* Originate, assess, and underwrite corporate property risks, with a focus on business development and portfolio growth.
* Design timely, customised insurance solutions that deliver value to clients while meeting Swiss Re’s profitability goals.
* Conduct technical risk assessments and underwrite in accordance with CorSo ANZ’s underwriting guidelines, pricing models, and delegated authority limits.
* Deliver high-quality, timely underwriting service and support, including accurate documentation and responsive client engagement.
* Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients and brokers to support retention and identify future business opportunities.
* In collaboration with the Corporate Property Portfolio Leader for Australia & New Zealand, analyse portfolio performance and contribute to reporting that informs regional property strategy.
* Keep relevant stakeholders informed of market developments, including underwriting trends and competitor activity.
* Ensure data integrity and compliance with underwriting systems, guidelines, and pricing procedures.
* Provide mentorship and guidance to junior underwriters and support staff, contributing to training initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team.
About the Team
The Property & Specialty Underwriting Team within Corporate Solutions is responsible for driving profitable growth across Property and Engineering lines in alignment with the broader business strategy. You will be part of a collaborative team of twelve property underwriters, working together to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional service to our clients.
About You
* Strong technical expertise in underwriting corporate property risks.
* In-depth knowledge of the Australian property insurance market and broker landscape.
* Tertiary qualifications and/or ANZIIF certification (preferred).
* Proven ability to develop and maintain profitable client relationships.
* Client-focused with strong marketing, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Professional and confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders across all levels and geographies.
* Highly organised with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
* Self-motivated, proactive, and goal oriented.
