**The Role**
In this exciting new role, you will join a growing team and help develop an external strategic communications plan for Anglicare Southern Queensland.
**You will make this role your own. **Anglicare Southern Queensland has an amazing history full of incredible stories from both our diverse staff and the clients we support. Our team is seeking someone who has the ability to recognise these stories and craft them into content to be shared to the right people at the right time, in the right medium. The role will also work to foster relations with external media outlets to ensure that Anglicare can be front and centre when any industry advice or comment is needed.
Some of the responsibilities of this role will include
- Improve and implement the strategic communication plans for ASQ's service departments
- Ensure the translation of research and complex information into engaging communications.
- Create copy and content for ASQ communication channels including website, blog, newsletters, and earned and social media.
- Ensure all distribution channels (eg newsletters, blogs, social media, print media etc) relevant to ASQ are being utilised and audiences are engaged with regularly.
- Develop and implement an annual Strategic Communications Plan including budget, resource allocation and management reporting.
- Ensure clarity and consistency of messaging across all external communications and marketing activity; aligned to the brand strategy and "story".
- Support team members, work closely with Internal Communications and Engagement Specialist to support the key messaging for the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) eg. elevator pitches, blogs and speeches etc
- Work with Internal Communications Specialist to provide strategic insight to the ELT team and on contemporary communications and media updates.
- Manage media training for ELT and relevant staff.
- Promote Anglicare brand through positive media stories
- Overseas tenders and grant coordinator

- Extensive experience in developing communication strategies.
- Highly developed strategic communications, and project management skills.
- Experience in leading communications campaigns (community awareness / behaviour) and/or experience with community engagement methodologies.
- Proven track record in successful delivery and evaluation of media performance.
- Budgeting, planning and reporting skills.
- Proven ability to lead and effectively manage the performance, output and development of direct reports.
- Credible, engaging communicator with strong negotiation and influencing skills and high level written communications, with creative flair.
- Relevant experience in a non-profit environment (desirable).
- Established contacts in the media industry.
