About the role
Neighbourhood Care is seeking an experienced male Support Worker to join our self-managing team in Ipswich. This casual role with potential to move into a permanent part‐time position will see you providing high‐quality care and assistance to our client with disability, helping them maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life.
What you'll be doing
* Assisting clients with everyday tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping.
* Accompanying clients to appointments, social outings, and community activities and providing emotional support and companionship to ensure our clients' wellbeing.
* Collaborating with the care team to develop and implement personalised support plans and manage supports.
* Maintaining detailed client records and following all relevant policies and procedures.
What we're looking for
* Reliability, commitment and genuine passion for disability support.
* Willingness to work with a variety of clients, in community and in home, short and longer shifts, including inactive sleepovers.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a disability support role (or equivalent).
* Experience in community services roles including social work, youth work, mental health support, or similar community‐based support positions will be considered as equivalent to disability support experience.
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Disability, Home and Community) or equivalent.
* Related certifications including nursing qualifications, aged care certificates or other recognised health and community services qualifications will be considered as equivalent to Certificate III in Individual Support.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Compassionate and patient approach when working with vulnerable clients.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative care team.
* Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
* Experience in or willingness to learn how to collaborate with your team to manage the support you deliver to clients.
* Australian citizenship or permanent residency is essential for this role.
