Finance and Accounting Leadership Opportunity
The ideal candidate for this role will be a seasoned finance professional with a strong background in accounting and taxation. With at least 5 years of practical experience in managing financial operations, they will oversee the day-to-day activities of the finance team, ensuring compliance with Australian laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management:
o Develop and implement financial plans to drive business growth.
o Manage cash flow, prepare budgets, and monitor budget vs. actual performance.
o Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
2. Accounting and Compliance:
o Manage tax filings, handle GST and corporate tax, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
o Develop and implement effective internal control processes to mitigate financial risks.
3. Leadership and Team Management:
o Lead and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure the smooth operation of the finance department.
o Oversee work progress, improve operational efficiency, and make key decisions to drive business outcomes.
4. Communication and Liaison:
o Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including the Japanese parent company, investors, and other key partners.
o Prepare financial reports, conduct analysis, and offer strategic proposals to drive business growth.
5. Administrative and HR Functions:
o Support general administrative tasks, including office management, payroll coordination, employee records, and compliance with local labor laws.
Requirements:
1. At least 5 years of practical experience in accounting and taxation in Australia.
2. Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese (both written and spoken).
3. CPA or CA qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable.
4. Proven leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing teams and driving business outcomes.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
6. Familiarity with general administrative and HR processes is a plus.
