Chef List of Duties & Responsibilities for The Marina Cafe, Church Point.
* Prepares foods to the specifications of the customer as trained and advised by Head Chef - making adjustments to food items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific diet concerns
* Manages other employees in the kitchen (Kitchen Hand)
* Acts as liaison to front-of-house employees to ensure proper food service temperature
* Operates various kitchen appliance such as a blender, oven, grill, slicer or stand mixer
* Portions, arranges, and garnishes food based on client preference
* Assists other cooks during the food assembly process
* Prepares any necessary sauces or accompaniments before meal service begins
* Cleans up after business hours
* Communicates with Head Chef about how to improve meal service
* Ensuring all their duties are being carried out to the fullest of their potential
* Engaging in cooking and food preparation in the Café.
* Ensuring the freshness of food items as well as food quality.
* Ensuring all food-handling regulations are complied with by the staff and that safetyand sanitary requirements are met.
* Cleans food preparation areas as determined by law and company policy
* Checking quality of stock for freshness, weight, use by dates, etc. and communication of issues to Head Chef.
* Communicating with the Head Chef on a regular basis regarding all stock levels.
* Responsible for being aware of stock levels of fresh produce and other food items.
* Ensuring the required stock levels are maintained
Salary: 76,515-$80,000
