Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Digital Designer to join our creative team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll produce outstanding, creatively inspiring digital work daily. You’ll report to our Head of Marketing and work alongside our existing design team, bringing specialised expertise in web design, digital asset creation, and modern AI-enhanced design workflows.
This role is intended to support our existing creative capabilities, with a primary focus on digital-first outputs, including websites, landing pages, digital advertising assets, social media graphics, email templates, and UI/UX design elements
Key Responsibilities
Web & Digital Design
* Design responsive websites and landing pages that convert, working within WordPress, Webflow, and/or custom CMS environments
* Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma
* Develop and maintain design systems, ensuring consistency across client projects
* Optimise user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) elements for accessibility and performance
Digital Asset Production
* Produce digital advertising creative for Google Display, Meta, LinkedIn, and programmatic platforms
* Design email marketing templates and eDM graphics
* Create social media content graphics, carousels, and stories optimised for each platform
* Develop motion graphics, GIFs, and straightforward video content for digital channels
AI-Enhanced Design Workflows
* Leverage AI design tools (eg, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Figma AI, Canva AI) to accelerate creative workflows
* Use prompt engineering techniques to generate conceptual artwork, mood boards, and design variations
* Integrate AI-generated elements seamlessly into professional, brand-compliant deliverables
* Stay current with emerging AI design tools and recommend adoption where appropriate
Collaboration & Process
* Work collaboratively with the marketing team, account managers, and clients
* Present design concepts and rationale to internal stakeholders and clients
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously within agreed timelines
* Contribute to creative brainstorming and strategic discussions
Essential Requirements
Experience & Skills
* Minimum 5+ years’ experience in digital design, ideally within an agency environment
* Expert proficiency in Figma for UI/UX design and prototyping
* Strong command of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects)
* Demonstrated experience designing and building websites (WordPress, Webflow, or similar)
* Portfolio showcasing web design, digital advertising, and social media creative
* Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first approaches
* Knowledge of HTML/CSS fundamentals (you don’t need to be a developer, but should understand the constraints)
* A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media or a related field is highly desirable
AI Design Capabilities (Essential)
* Practical experience with AI image generation tools (Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, DALL-E, or similar)
* Understanding of prompt engineering principles for design applications
* Ability to refine and integrate AI-generated content into professional deliverables
* Commitment to staying current with AI design tool developments
Desirable Skills
* Experience with motion graphics and video editing (After Effects, Premiere Pro)
* Familiarity with design tokens and component-based design systems
* Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG)
* Experience with animation tools
* Basic understanding of conversion rate optimisation (CRO) principles
* Knowledge of SEO considerations in web design
