The opportunity
If you are studying Town Planning, Development Studies, Architecture, Property Development, Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning Law or equivalent, now is the time to take control of your future and achieve your professional ambitions by commencing your placement with PSC
If successful the start date and work days / hours are flexible and subject to mutual agreement. Placements are generally part time (2 – 3 days a week) unless otherwise agreed.
Please note that this is unpaid work experience.
The placement will involve all aspects of development planning undertaken by Council and includes:
* Provision of general advice to customers through the duty planning service.
* Assistance in the assessment of planning proposals, issuing of planning certificates and preparation of strategic plans and policies.
* Involvement in pre-lodgement meetings.
* Working alongside the experienced Council planners, you'll share in everyday challenges, develop new skills, acquire an insight into the operation of Council and gain valuable experience in a professional working environment.
All tasks will involve working with a mentor in the workplace and will include shadowing a Strategic Planner. It is an opportunity to put your studies into practice and establishing a network of fellow professionals in the Hunter region.
