Job Title: Head of Safety
Location: Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane (Flexible)
Type: 12-month contract
Rate: $105 per hour
About The Role
Lead the health, safety, and wellbeing strategy across major infrastructure projects on a 12-month contract. Drive a strong safety culture, ensure compliance, and partner with operational teams to embed best practice standards across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement safety strategies aligned with business objectives.
* Lead and support safety teams across regions.
* Promote continuous improvement in safety performance and culture.
* Manage regulatory compliance and reporting.
* Collaborate with senior leaders and operational teams to influence safety outcomes.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven health and safety leadership across heavy infrastructure, construction, mining, or energy sectors.
* Deep knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices.
* A people person who brings energy, drives cultural change, and inspires teams - this is the most important!
* Outstanding communication skills and a knack for building strong stakeholder relationships.
What You Need:
* Diploma or higher-level qualification in Work Health and Safety (e.g., Diploma of WHS or equivalent).
* Tier 1 experience.
* ICAM.
* Minimum of 10 years' WHS experience within construction, heavy infrastructure, or heavy mining.
* Strong site-based HSE experience.
* Solid knowledge of QHSE processes and relevant Australian WHS legislation.
* Proven commitment to compliance with OH&S legislation and best practices.
* Strong administrative skills, including proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and SharePoint (preferred).
* Current unrestricted Australian Driver's License with ability to travel to sites as required.
