The Operation
Mount Isa Mines produces copper and zinc, with a focus on resource identification, development, production, and distribution to customers worldwide. We attract skilled professionals and support their career advancement through detailed pathways and mentorship.

Your Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluate and maintain compliance with Ground Control Management plans and QLD Mining Quarrying and Safety ACT.
2. Train and mentor Geotechnical Engineers, providing ground awareness training to site personnel.
3. Analyse empirical and numerical modelling results of new mining blocks, report findings, and develop action plans with operations and planning engineers.
4. Record and interrogate monitoring instrumentation, report, and develop action plans with operations and planning engineers.
5. Conduct ground support product trials and optimise designs.
6. Achieve department KPIs and performance reporting.
Requirements:
1. Post-secondary diploma, bachelor's degree, or certification in Engineering or Geoscience, specialising in Mining or Geotechnical fields.
2. Minimum 6 years of experience in underground hard rock mining.
3. Strong team collaboration, clear communication, problem-solving, and critical analysis skills.
4. High accuracy and effective time management.
5. Proficiency in Rocscience, Deswik, Leapfrog, FLAC software packages.
6. Solid knowledge of risk management, safety systems, and legislative requirements.
