Roles and Responsibilities
* Lead the successful operation and maintain accreditation of the UWA Day Surgery as the Director of Nursing, ensuring compliance with Department of Health requirements and maintaining high standards of patient care.
* Provide operational, nurse manager and academic support at the University’s Day Hospital, a clinical training site for postgraduate students, facilitating real-time clinical learning in a day surgery environment.
* Foster an innovative, safe, and supportive setting where students gain hands‑on experience in perioperative, recovery, and ambulatory care, aligning clinical activities with the University’s teaching and research goals.
About you
* AQF7 + Bachelor of Nursing with post‑graduate equivalent experience.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a peri‑operative suite.
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Extensive experience in senior clinical nursing and health‑care management roles.
* Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage multidisciplinary teams.
Note: The provision of clinical activity is essential for this role. The post holder will be required to hold or be in the process of developing a speciality area of practice to be agreed with the Head of Department.
