The Operational Infrastructure Department supports Victoria Police delivery of community safety through the provision of buildings, vehicles, equipment, uniforms and consumables. About the role of Director, Equipment and Fleet
Reporting to the Executive Director, Operational Infrastructure, the Director, Equipment and Fleet is accountable for sourcing and supply of armoury, equipment, uniforms and consumables, and Fleet Services, as well as providing technical and strategic advice, reporting and consultancy services. This role will be implementing innovative strategies that optimise the allocation, maintenance, and deployment of resources which are critical to operations.
The Director, Equipment and Fleet will ensure strategic leadership culture is embedded to drive change, build collaborative partnerships with senior stakeholders to achieve business outcomes, and develop a multidisciplinary and diverse workforce that effectively maintains and improves service delivery into the future. The Director, Equipment and Fleet will lead and oversee divisional Commercial and Corporate Strategy and financial management, to achieve Victoria Police financial sustainability targets through enhanced procurements and contract management frameworks and practices.
The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, program management and technical experience in armoury, equipment and uniforms and fleet. You will bring a customer-centric approach to complement your commercial acumen and analytical problem-solving ability, to deliver accurate and timely services to Victoria Police. Your demonstrated sound judgement, ethical behaviour, self-awareness and motivation will ensure your success in this role.
Requirements and relevant information:
4. The successful candidate will be required to undergo and successfully obtain and maintain a National Security Vetting Level 1. To obtain this clearance, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
5. The preferred candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include reference checks, psychometric assessment, fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
6. The successful candidate will be employed pursuant to Victoria Police policies and procedures. All Executive Officer appointments are in accordance with the Public Administration Act 2004 and the Victorian Public Service Executive Employment Handbook. The successful candidate will be required to enter into an Executive Officer Contract of Employment for a period of up to five years.
