We are seeking a dedicated Cook to join our team at Maleny Erowal in a part time, weekends-only role. You’ll play an important part in supporting the health and wellbeing of our residents through delicious, wholesome food.
About the Role
Working weekends under the guidance of the Chef Supervisor, the Cook will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, and serving of nutritious and appealing meals that meet the needs of our residents. You will ensure all meals are prepared in line with the Food Safety Program, while also supporting special dietary requirements and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities 
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality meals that are nourishing and enjoyable for residents
- Support the delivery of special dietary requirements as advised by health professionals
- Assist with ordering and managing stock supplies
- Ensure compliance with the Food Safety Program and maintain safe work practices
- Contribute to a clean, organised, and welcoming kitchen environment
- Collaborate with catering staff to achieve excellence in food services
What You Will Bring 
- Completion of a Food Handling Course
- Certificate relevant to the role (e.g., Certificate III in Hospitality – Commercial Cookery)
- Current National Police Certificate (or the ability to obtain one)
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen practices
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience in aged care or hospitality will be highly regarded
