Position Overview: A Senior Baker carries out daily baking responsibilities under instruction from the Bakehouse Supervisor and Production Manager, including all elements of baking process, packing, wrapping and cleaning.
They also supervise and train more junior baking staff and are expected to assist with HACCP, NPD, the smooth and efficient running of the bakehouse and other relevant duties as required.
Job is predominantly weekday day shifts starting between 6am and 7am finishing between 3pm-5pm except for the 8 weeks leading into Easter.
This is Kytons busiest period and longer hours as well as some weekend work and night hours are required and paid accordingly.
Flexibility for family or other responsibilities (inc school hours work) can be catered for in this position so long as arrangements suit both parties.
Position to start as soon as possible.
Key responsibilities:
These responsibilities include but are not limited to -
Participate in baking & wrapping of products as part of the baking team
Cleaning of bakery, equipment and utensils as required
Ensure all products are produced within food regulations and to Kytons standards as set by management.
Embrace the concept of safe food handling and the developed HACCP & WHS System procedures documented in the relevant manuals
Participate and contribute to staff/ team meetings, product development and training as required
Supervise and train more junior staff as required
Using resources provided effectively perform other duties as required.

Essential Criteria
Previous baking experience or baking qualifications
Enthusiasm to be a part of the dynamic & hard working Kytons Team
A knowledge of food handling & HACCP procedures
Level of fitness to cope with long periods of time on your feet and lifting
Attention to detail & care in your work as well as your work space
Ability to impart your baking knowledge to those around you
A willingness to expand your knowledge in all of the above areas
Personal Attributes
Ability to work well with the bakehouse team
Ability to train others in the bakehouse
Performance Expectations:
Meeting daily production targets and quality standards within time constraints set by Bakehouse Supervisor or Management
Adherence to WHS and HACCP standards
Ability to impart knowledge to other team members
Ability to work unsupervised
