Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Workday Architect or Senior Technical Architect with proven expertise in Workday integrations, configuration, and system optimization.
* Deep knowledge of Workday Studio, Workday Extend, EIB, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and Workday Web Services (SOAP, REST).
* Strong background in API development, data architecture, and Workday reporting tools (BIRT, Calculated Fields, Report Writer).
* Experience with Workday security frameworks, authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML), and data governance.
* Demonstrated ability to design scalable, secure, and compliant Workday solutions aligned with business objectives.
* Experience integrating Workday with payroll and time & attendance systems, preferably in the Australian context with knowledge of local payroll compliance (e.g., Single Touch Payroll, superannuation).
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to work collaboratively across HR, Payroll, IT, and vendor teams.
* Familiarity with Australian employment legislation and payroll compliance requirements is highly desirable.
* Experience with tools for integration version control and automated testing (Swagger, GitLab, Dynatrace, Selenium) is preferred.
* Strategic thinker with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Collaborative workshop facilitator and consensus builder.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on data integrity and compliance.
* Proactive in knowledge transfer and documentation.
* Adaptable to evolving technology and regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Current State Assessment
* Conduct a comprehensive fixed-price assessment of Customer’s existing Workday environment focusing on integration capabilities, data architecture, and compliance readiness.
* Identify configuration gaps, manual workarounds, and integration inefficiencies impacting payroll and HR processes.
* Deliver findings with recommendations and a high-level forward work plan.
2. Target State Design and Roadmap
* Lead collaborative workshops with Payroll vendor, UKG Pro stakeholders, HR, IT, and other key teams to align on integrated People Systems design.
* Define the target state architecture for Workday, focusing initially on payroll integration and automation, then broader HR compliance and value-add capabilities.
* Develop options and a phased roadmap prioritizing payroll automation and compliance, followed by other HRIS enhancements.
3. Target State Delivery
* Remediate configuration issues across business processes, security, calculated fields, condition rules, integrations, and reporting.
* Optimize core HR business processes (Hire-to-Retire, Termination, Job Changes) for efficiency, automation, and compliance.
* Lead data integrity efforts including validation, cleanup, and master data management.
* Manage integration testing and fixes for third-party systems including payroll, UKG Pro, identity management, utilizing tools such as PECI, APIs, EIBs, and Workday Studio.
* Deliver updated system documentation, training materials, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
* Ensure ongoing compliance with Australian employment legislation, audit standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Support data warehouse development by delivering EIBs to integrate Workday, UKG, and payroll data.
* Utilize integration version control and testing tools (Swagger, GitLab, Dynatrace, Selenium) as required by the Customer.
