About the Role/s
We are seeking experienced Cooks and a Catering Assistants to join our team on either part time or casual basis in delivering high-quality patient-centered care at our reputable independent private hospital.
Candidates must have relevant cooking or kitchen/catering assistant experience.
Our Hospital Kitchen plays a crucial role in providing exceptional care to patients. Your compassion, expertise and attention to detail will play a key role in providing a comfortable recovery process for our patients.
Possessing the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team the purpose of this role is to deliver excellent care to our patients in a safe and effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparation and serving of meals.
* Delivering of patient meals to patients.
* Collecting, clearing and washing of all kitchen crockery and utensils.
* Assists the Catering Supervisor and Cook with all cooking duties as required.
* Proficient in all aspects of food safety and knowledge of allergens.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of HACCP principles and PPE requirements.
* Maintains a safe and hygienic working environment.
Essential Criteria
* Available to work evenings and weekends as and when required.
* Available for approximately 15-30 hours per week as required.
* Able to increase availability for leave cover as required.
* Demonstrated knowledge of food handling and hospitality procedures.
* Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated customer service experience.
* Ability to work in a team environment and work independently.
* A professional attitude with excellent personal presentation.
* Food Handling certificate (FSANZ Standard 3.2.2A)
* Valid national police check not older than 6 months
* Have a current or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check.
* Australian work rights are required, with valid work visas acceptable on a case-by-case basis.
Desired Criteria
* Certificate III or higher in relevant field.
* Previous experience working in hospital or similar care-based sector desirable.
The successful candidate will report to the Catering Supervisor.
