About the role
Join the team at Gympie Sports Club as a full-time Chef/Cook. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. As an integral member of the kitchen brigade, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality meals that delight our customers.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing, cooking and plating a variety of dishes from the menu in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen
- Collaborating with the head chef to develop new menu items and seasonal specials
- Accurately costing and portioning menu items
- Training and mentoring junior kitchen staff
- Ensuring the kitchen is well-stocked and equipment is in good working order
What we're looking for
- Formal culinary training and/or several years\' experience as a Chef/Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and presentation
- Excellent time management and multitasking skills to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to upholding high food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work well as part of a team and provide guidance to junior staff
- Passion for creating delicious, visually appealing meals
