We are excited to invite an enthusiastic and dedicated History and Geography Teacher to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a secondary teacher who thrives in a collaborative classroom environment and is passionate about inspiring our students to think critically and apply their learning to real-world contexts. This is a full-time fixed-term role from 7 October 2025 to 3 December 2025 (Term 4, 2025), teaching Years 9-10 History & Geography.

As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to create inclusive and engaging classroom experiences that foster both academic excellence and personal growth. Your strong pedagogical skills and behaviour management practices will be key in cultivating a positive and supportive learning atmosphere for all students.

The ideal candidate will be skilled in building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents, providing timely feedback, and supporting students' individual needs. Above all, we are looking for someone who can inspire a passion for the subjects they teach, and help students connect with the material in meaningful ways.

As the successful candidate you will:

* Deliver outstanding History & Geography education with an unwavering dedication to excellence.
* Establish positive relationships, engaging in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development.
* Demonstrate effective pedagogical practices in learning and teaching, supporting the development and maintenance of positive relationships with students and colleagues.
* Create a dynamic, student-centered learning environment that is supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents, and practices.
* Implement effective, adaptive, inclusive, and equitable teaching strategies.
* Provide effective supervision of students and behaviour management practices.
* Support the sacramental, liturgical, ritual, and prayer life of the College.
* Ensure that the teachings, values, and practices of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

Villanova College is a distinguished independent Catholic school for boys, guided by the Augustinian Order. Founded in 1948 by five visionary Irish priests on a 10-acre property in Hamilton, the College has grown from its humble beginnings to its current vibrant campus in Coorparoo, where it now educates over 1,500 students from Years 5 to 12.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

1. Qualifications to teach History & Geography (Bachelor degree in education or equivalent qualification/s).
2. Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
3. Proficiency in using a range of information communications technology skills (e.g., Microsoft Teams, supporting students' use of technology to access curriculum).
4. Ability to work autonomously and under limited direction, while inspiring and motivating students in a progressive learning environment to prepare them for the future.
5. Commitment to Catholic education, philosophy, and practice, with a willingness to participate in the College's co-curricular program and attend camps as directed.
