Immediate start — $26.70 ph + appl. penalties (Level 3 HIGA Award).
This role assists in maintaining the building, plant, equipment, fixtures and fittings within our luxury 5* resort. Your role is to protect the asset and ensure it remains a functional, pleasant and safe workplace for all guests, visitors and team members.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general hotel maintenance and repair tasks and follow up as scheduled by the Hotels’ Property Management System (PMS). Including but not limited to:
- Painting, decorating, minor renovations
- Pool maintenance
- Assisting with garden and landscaping work
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, used and stored correctly.
- Assist in keeping up to date records on the repair and maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Liaise with relevant teams regarding all work in guest rooms and public areas to ensure out of order areas of the Hotel are brought back into use as soon as possible.
- Report back on the completion, or delay, of any task that is guest related.
- Plan and prioritise jobs to ensure deadlines are met and emergencies are handled appropriately.
- Ensure the workshop is maintained in a safe and clean working condition.
- Perform duties on a shift roster basis as required.
- Maintaining a high standard of work and ensuring a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum 12 months demonstrated experience in general building maintenance or handyperson role.
- Previous experience working in hotel / resort / hospitality settings is preferred.
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including small hand tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be physically fit to perform the required duties.
- Service oriented with an eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in a dynamic environment.
- Self-motivated and energetic.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts between the hours of 6am and 9pm Monday-Sunday. Penalty rates may apply.
