We are seeking suitable applications for a highly capable and values-driven Clinical Nurse Specialist – Infection Prevention and Management to join our dynamic Infection Prevention and Management team at Sir Charles Gairdner Osborne Park Health Care Group (SCGOPHCG). This position provides Infection Prevention & Mangement services at both Sir Charles Gairdner and Osborne Park Hospital sites on a rotational basis in conjunction with other Clinical Nurse Specialists in the service.
This is for a Permanent Full Time appointment.
What is our Clinical Nurse Specialist – Infection Prevention and Management role?
The Clinical Nurse Specialist – Infection Prevention and Management provides clinical expertise to the nursing services, patients, families and other staff at SCGOPHCG. Responsibilities include development, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of standards of practice to ensure the delivery of safe quality patient care by all staff throughout the Hospital.
The Infection Prevention and Management Unit provides a service to the patient, hospital staff and community by designing and implementing effective hospital-wide activities and policies to prevent and control the spread of infection.

Area Profiles
Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital (SCGH) is one of Australia's leading teaching tertiary hospitals. Located at the Queen Elizabeth II Medical Centre 4km from Perth city centre, SCGH provides a comprehensive range of clinical services including trauma, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, general medicine, general surgery, and cardiac care. It is home to WA's only comprehensive cancer centre - the largest cancer treatment centre in the State - and is the State's principal hospital for neurosurgery and liver transplants.
Osborne Park Hospital (OPH) provides specialist health care services for the community in the north metropolitan area and is located in Stirling, 14 kilometres from the Perth central business district. The hospital provides a comprehensive range of specialist health care services for the north metropolitan suburbs. The services at OPH are provided by three main specialties consisting of Rehabilitation and Aged Care Services and Younger Adult Rehabilitation, Surgical Services and Women's & Newborn Services. Each of these specialties has a dedicated Allied Health Services Team.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
