Fulton Hogan is seeking an experienced Asphalt Laying and Spray Seal Leading Hand to join our team in Launceston (Tasmania) on a permanent basis.
What's on offer?
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for:
* Overseeing Asphalt Laying and Spray Seal projects including; planning, plant management, traffic control and subcontractor management
* Supervising an Asphalt Laying / Spray Seal crew
* Ensuring projects are completed on time, in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with both contractual and statutory requirements
* Communicating effectively with your team, customers and internal departments ensuring you build and maintain strong relationships
* Actively encouraging all employees to commit to zero harm
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Leading Hand or similar role within the road surfacing industry
* Proven technical experience in Asphalt Laying and Spray Seal operations
* A strong safety culture
* Planning and Project Management experience
* Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
* A valid drivers' license and Construction White Card
* Ability to travel across the Tasmanian region and the ability to work away from home and a willingness to undertake weekend / night shift work when required.
* Computer literacy and the ability to read basic contract terms and standard industry specifications and quality system needs. Appropriate training and support will be given.
